The present condition of nursing in our hospital seen from DiNQL data Mikako KATO
【Abstract】
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to know the change in work and nursing quality of the nursing bureau in our hospital and find out the issues of future nursing, by comparing the data in FY 2014 according to Database for improvement of Nursing Quality and Labor (DiNQL: evaluation business concerning work and nursing quality implemented by the Japan Nursing Association) with that in FY 2018.
Method: According to DiNQL, we investigated the situation about pressure ulcer, malpractice of medication and falling down in our hospital in FY 2014 and 2018, considering that, represented as median value, obtained from the whole country in the same fiscal years. Then we analyzed the factors for the changes, if any, and extracted the issues for future nursing.
Results: Regarding pressure ulcer, the incidence rate decreased in FY 2018, suggesting the improved quality of nursing care. However, those for falling down and malpractice of medication increased in FY 2018, indicating the problems of structure and process that we had.
Conclusion: Although our approach as to structure and process could reduce the rate of pressure ulcer, there were issues to be solved in the case of falling down and malpractice of medication, which were well visualized by employing DiNQL.

Perspectives on Safe Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy and Replacement of Gastrostomy Catheters in My Department
Yusaku KAJIHARA
【Abstrct】
I describe the perspectives on safe percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) and replacement of gastrostomy catheters by a review of my experience with complications, including submucosal hematoma, bleeding, gastric mucosal laceration, pneumoperitoneum, buried bumper syndrome, and inadvertent puncture of another organ. In addition, I introduce superior mesenteric artery syndrome as a pitfall in vomiting and discuss the usefulness of elemental diet and semi-solid medical food as a nutrient administered after PEG.

【Abstract】
We examined the outcomes of curative anti-cancer therapy for esophageal cancer and non-small cell lung cancer, employing 3 types of survival rate based on the survey data of hospital cancer registration. As a result, it was suggested that they were within the level of national standard, although the patient number and the observation period were not sufficient. We would like to further investigate the treatment outcomes for malignancies in the other region.
